Happy Halloween!

The spooky season of October is here and Halloween, traditionally known as “All Hallows’ Eve” is celebrated worldwide on the evening before the Christian holy day on 31 October – “the night before All Saints’ Day”.

The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, and it is believed that on that day, the souls of the dead returned to their homes.

People lit bonfires to ward off spirits and dressed up as saints and went to wealthy homes to offer prayers in exchange for food and beer.

With growing popularity on the rise in Australia, Halloween is now celebrated by dressing in costumes and going from house to house, knocking on doors and calling out “Trick or Treat”, hoping to have bags filled with sweets.

Pumpkins are carved into glowering jack-o’-lanterns to keep harmful spirits out of one’s home and there are storytelling of spooky tales of witches, ghosts, monster and ghouls, shared.

You may have heard me share about The Thrive Factor Archetypes and one of my five archetypes is the Shapeshifter Alchemist.

She is magical, mystical and mysterious and Halloween is certainly a time where she is able to connect and lean more into the magic this day offers and allow my awareness and intuition to welcome the unknown, reflect, release and bring in a little magic into everyday life.

Happy Halloween!
